Today “Scoot” left with us for an adventure to the Garden City Target store. We were on a mission to get a few things for Emily’s upcoming year at College. “Scoot” did an amazing job getting me around while following Emily in the Target Store.
Side note: We found the amazing embroidered Converse shoes for her that are in the photo.
When we zoomed back outside after our shopping spree, we lowered the lift to load her back up. On the way “back up,” we had a moment of silence. (Maybe not silence on my part 😂).
The lift was going up, making its usual noises. Then nothing. I attempted moving the switch up and down while doing my happy dance- nothing. Yep I had an audience by this time, all eyes on me. “Scoot” was lifted 1/4 of the way up… not secured down by any means. Yep, I said a few words. Probably non-Christianly ones… How the … are we going home I thought. All I had with me in the mini-Winnie were bungee straps. Yep- won’t hold down a 500 lb scooter well enough. Thought about letting Emily weigh it down by riding on it back there on our way home- just kidding.
At the end of the day we had one new pair of shoes and a new 20 amp fuse. Emily and I got a crash course in the art of fuse finding/changing. I was super proud of her as she handled it like a pro.
Team work! And a reminder to mama to find some patience… and find my Holy words.
